NASA - What's Next?
NASA has many scientists who are working on plans to explore more of our universe in the near future. With many advances in the international space station missions, they have learned a great deal of the different workings of space and the mysteries it holds. There are so many mysteries that we have not unraveled yet and NASA is trying their best to come up with new ideas. There are many reasons why it is important to have an updated NASA. What’s next for NASA is:
1. Glory- The closest in what’s next for NASA. Scheduled for a launch on January 2010, Glory is going to increase our knowledge on the Earth’s energy balance. Through aerosol sensing this can be accomplished. When the glory mission is finished, we can better understand the different aerosols that are in space. Finding this out can drastically change the way we view global warming and other harmful disasters.
2. Juno- Like the 1st in the Frontiers Program, the first being to Pluto, NASA is planning to visit Jupiter. The reasoning comes from the mythology of Jupiter and how he would hide himself in a veil of clouds so that he could stir up trouble for people. Jupiter is next on the list to visit in 2011. They plan to reach the planet in 2016. There they will discover what is beneath that layer surrounding Jupiter.
3. WISE- The Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer is what is next in NASA’s plans of space exploration. This will give us a lot of information on the solar system, Milky Way, and the universe. The WISE will also study asteroids, stars and galaxies. Through this Explorer, said to launch in November 2009 for 7-13 months, we will learn a little bit more of the different mysteries of the galaxies around us and the different stars that encompass our universe.
NASA has other plans for the future that people can view on their website.
There are much advancement in the recent years to allow for such leaps into space. The technology that allows us to do this is reliant on the scientists working on them. With the changing times, there is more need to discover new things to better our planet’s natural resources. Without our resources, we don’t have a chance of surviving in the future years. 1965 season in NCAA Men's Basketball
In the 1960′s Men’s Basketball was still growing in popularity and there was excitement growing around the championship game that would take place in the NCAA Tournament. This tournament featured the best teams in the NCAA. These teams would be invited to play in a tournament to see which theam was the best team in the nation.
While today the tournament features more than 60 teams, the tournament was much more exclusive in those times. Only the top 23 teams in the nation would take part in the tournament in 1965. These teams included the likes of University of Connecticut, North Carolina State, Pennsylvania State, Princeton, Providence, Saint Joseph’s, West Virginia, Dayton, DePaul , Eastern Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Vanderbilt, Houston, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, SMU, Wichita State, BYU, Colorado State, Oklahoma City, San Francisco and UCLA.
The quarterfinals in the East Region featured a couple of solid and close games. Princeton was able to pull out a close victory over Penn State. This victory would give them a lot of momentum to move on in the tournament. They would advance to beat out North Carolina State in the next round. In the Finals of their region they would take on Providence. Princeton was absolutely dominant in their matchup against Providence. They would dispose of their foe by a margin of 40 points, advancing to the final 4.
In the Mideast region Michigan and Vanderbilt were able to work their way to the Finals of the region. The two teams would square off in quite a memorable matchup. Each team seemed to be fighting with all they had in hopes of a championship. In the end Michigan managed to come out on top by a score of 87-85.
The Midwest region featured Wichita State.
They played their first matchup against SMU in the Semifinal round of their part of the bracket. They would beat SMU 86-81 to advance to the finals. In the finals they played against Oklahoma State. Oklahoma State had just taken out Houston with an impressive 75-60 victory and many people thought they’d have the momentum entering the finals round. In the end Wichita State was able to pull out a 54-46 victory to advance to the Final Four.
The West Region featured a dominant UCLA team. UCLA was led by John Wooden, the legendary coach. They would take on BYU in the Semifinals. In that game UCLA looked impressive, taking out BYU by a margin of 24 points. They would move on to take on in-state rival San Francisco. They would advance to become the 4th and final team in the Final Four.
UCLA and Wichita State would square off while Michigan and Princeton would play in the other bracket. In these games it was pretty clear as to which teams were superior. Michigan and UCLA easily disposed of their foes.
This would leave UCLA and Michigan to square off for the championship. Meanwhile, Princeton would dispose of Wichita State for the recognition of 3rd place in the nation.
In the championship game UCLA would play an excellent game in order to take out Michigan. The final score of the game would be 91-80. This would be the 2nd title for the Bruins under the reigns of John Wooden.

I was watching a “documentary” about the “UFO” sightings over Phoenix on Mar 13, 1997 and I was wondering if the lights could be cause by advanced ion thrusters (which are real as you and me) on an experimental aircraft. Is there any known X-planes using ion propulsion or leaks about black budget programs making a ion engine-powered plane?

AFRICAN GREY TRAINING:
The African Grey is an amazing bird and it is a well known fact that it is a curious and intelligent animal. Emotionally they have been compared to small children and toddlers.
If and when you decide to get an African Grey parrot, you must be prepared for a lot of challenges. One of these challenges will be the training. Training your African Grey is not only important but is crucial. You must stick to good training program that works for both you and your parrot.
The African Grey is able to speak and mimic a large number of words. They are able to learn more than 2000 words when trained properly. They can duplicate sounds such as bells, lawnmowers, kettles etc. You must be careful what you say around them as they will copy what you say. To avoid embarrassment stick to words that is relevant to the training process. Mimicking words means they are saying random words that you have taught them, however you can teach them to understand what they say with time and patience.
African Greys’ are shy animals especially around strangers. It takes time and patience to teach them social skills that will help them become more confident. Social skills are vital for an emotionally healthy parrot.
New things should be introduced to them gradually so that they can adjust and get use to it. Remember your African Grey is skittish to new things. They are going to be a good addition to the family once they are comfortable within their surroundings. You will find that they are very affectionate and sociable.
I previously spoke about introducing new things to your African Grey gradually this also applies to people as well as their toys.
They love their toys and this provides with good stimulation. Things must be taken slowly and not too many things introduced at once.
If your African Grey is scared and very shy, you should use training methods that emphasis positive reinforcement. This will aid your relationship with your African Grey companion.
One very good training technique is of course the feeding training. Feeding them treats helps for them to adapt and adjust to various situations. To motivate and assist your bird with training find out what foods they like. Look at what they eat first at feeding time and what they eat last. It is like dessert after dinner, they will work harder for the treat they like more.
By making your training session more playful will ensure that the time spent with your African Grey is more fun and interesting. Make sure to put enough time aside to spend time with your African Grey to train him.
Let them get use to your voice by speaking to them on a continuous basis while they are still in their cage. Just like people every bird has its own personality and through enough experimentation you will soon realize what works best for both you and your African Grey.
Another very effective training is called the “Clicker training”. What this basically is in a nutshell: Every time you bring in a new toy. Place the toy in the same room as them and every time they look at the toy, you click and reward them. Continue to do this every day and bring the toy closer towards them. Keep at it until they are no longer scared of the toy and begin to play with it.
This method can be used when introducing people to a very shy African Grey. And as always be patient with your parrot. In time your parrot will learn to trust your judgment will feel comfortable with the people you are comfortable with. For more info visit the blog site African Grey Training.

Itinerary
DAY 1: Cape Town- ‘The Mother City’
After reaching Cape Town you can book a hotel and rest for a while after a long journey. During the afternoon time you can move out for the city tour. There are many places which one can visit like the Parliament and the ‘Tuinhuis’ , St. Georges Cathedral, Company Gardens, and the Malay Quarter. You can also explore the Victoria and the Alfred Waterfronts.
DAY 2: Cape Town- visit ‘The Cape of Good Hope’
Next morning you can move for the whole day excursion to Cape Point and to the Cape of Good Hope. First we can visit the fishing harbour of Hout Bay and continue our drive to Chapman’s peak. DAY 6 : Sun City ‘the Fun City’

Portsmouth Promotion Season 1986-87
As I write I am looking at a huge Portsmouth poster on my office wall at home. It is a team picture. Not of the FA Cup winning side of 2008. Or of the Championship winning side of 2003. Not even of the FA Cup semi finalists of 1992. The poster shows my real heroes, the promotion winning team of 1987.
They represent what first got me hooked on Pompey and football in general at the age of seven. Yes they were a good team, but they were also essentially the same team that had come so close to promotion in each of the previous two seasons, only to miss out at the death. Yet they had the guts to go at it one more time and succeed. It wasn’t all plain sailing even the third time, but it was third time lucky. The whole City was immensely proud of their achievement of delivering top flight football for the first time in 28 years.
Alan Ball was under pressure from the off after narrow failure in the previous two campaigns, and apparently launched a verbal assault on the players after a League Cup WIN at Fourth Division Wrexham. He ended the outburst by informing the players he intended to resign. The next day, training carried on as usual and nothing more was said! Typical of the manager and this group of players at the time.
Obviously, these goings on weren’t common knowledge to the fans at the time, but there were also a number of memorable matches that season. Kevin Dillon scored a hat trick of penalties in a Full Members Cup (!) game at Fratton Park against Millwall. Pompey also had three players sent off before half time at Sheffield United in a league game at Bramall Lane, and only lost 1-0! There was also a memorable 3-2 Boxing Day win at Plymouth.
Strange things seemed to be happening that season. Leading scorer Mick Quinn was even sent to prison for three weks in January for driving without a licence, but stil returned to lay his part in our eventual promotion!
A famous match that season was at Wimbledon in the FA Cup Fourth Round. It was a rare televised game for Pompey in those days and inevitably a complete disaster. Wimbledon had pipped us to promotion in the previous season, and played uncompromising football. In truth, it was more than ‘uncompromising’ and Alan Ball hated losing to them. But after going 1-0 down, Alan Knight bent down to do up his shoelaces as the game kicked off again. The ball quickly reached Noel Blake in the centre of defence, who (this was in the days when the goalkeeper was allowed to pick up a backpass) rolled it back to Knight without looking. Knight was still doing up his laces! That was 2-0 and Pompey eventually lost 4-0.
Come the end of the season, Pompey were in contention as usual, and played Millwall at home with two further games to come. In a famous win, Paul Mariner scored before Kevin O’Callaghan added a memorable winner after an indirect free kick inside the penalty area was tapped to him. Some thought that was enough for promotion on the day, but we still needed another point. It semed to be on its way at Crystal Palace in the next game, but a late Ian Wright winner snatched it away. Typically, it was never going to be simple with that Pompey team, and we neede a favour from Shrewsbury Town the following night against Oldham. They duly delivered and promotion was finally ours.
Even though promotion wasn’t secured in front of our own fans, I ‘m sure everyone must remember where they were when it was confirmed. I was visiting family in Cambridge. I was only ten, but the memory was powerful enough for me to still remember it now. I was due to go to the final game against Sheffield United at Fratton Park with a friend and his uncle, but there was some kind of mix up with the tickets and I really regret not being there 28,000 others that day to celebrate.
But, that disappointment is not my overriding memory of that season. I went to the civic reception with the same friend and his uncle (no doubt felling slightly guilty). But despite all the off the pitch goings-on I alluded to before (some taken from Alan Knight’s autobiography, ‘Legend’) and the memorable matches, the reason that team means so much to me is very simple. I had spent the first two seasons of my Pompey supporting life watching us finish fourth and narrowly miss out on promotion, only to see the team come back for more and succeed at the third attempt. It said to me that if you keep trying and never give up, you can achieve your goal. It was that simple to me as a ten year old boy and that’s why they are still pinned up on my wall.

I have never seen anything like it before. I am a skeptic, but it looks real.

The truth behind crop circle pictures
From all the “paranormal/extraterrestrial” phenomena, crop circles are perpaphs amongst the most visually appealing. With their intricate patterns, enourmous sizes and mysterious origin, crop circles have been the source of much debate and speculation.
Personally, I feel as though crop circles are a) elaborate pranks, and b) amazing human-made works of art, AND c) a secret hobby that is comparable to graffiti in the underlying subersive attitudes.
Is there anybody out there, overlooking our crops?
Most people want to believe that crop circles are created by alien spaceships, and used as marking signs for otherworldly navigation. Supposedly, these out-of-this-world markings would be used as a means of communication between advanced civilizations. After all, who else could create such complicated designs, in such a large scale? Humans certainly would not do such a thing right? I mean, it’s not like we’ve built pyramids and skycrapers and whatnot!
On the flip side, I think that it would be just too convenient that aliens only choose to make such markings on crop circles. What would be the point of that? Would they not have the technology to imprint their navigational signs elsewhere, other than crop fields? Or would there be some kind of special meaning to the fact these aliens choose to mark these fields in particular?
Who else could create crop circles, if not aliens?
Ok, sarcasm aside, and cutting to the point: when you look closely at crop circles and try to reflect on their creation for a little bit, you soon realize they aren’t nearly as sophisticated as something that would be conceived by a civilizations capable of inter-galactic travel; likewise, they aren’t as sophisticated as something that humans couldn’t possibly do.
At this point you may be wondering…
who else would bother to come up with these huge crop circles if not for aliens? And why has no one ever been caught doing crop circles? If you’re asking such questions, you obviously aren’t up to date on the latest street art trends, where artists gather together to create huge, provocative works of art.
Is it too far-fetched to assume that’s just what crop circles are? Rural art, created by artists who have developed a taste this kind of exhibit, as well as for the secrecy and mystery surrounding it.
