The GOP Presidential Candidate Debates seem to be quite a good show indeed. The debate and topics take the issues to a much higher level and realistic plateau. Additionally, they are very entertaining, with good comic relief. For instance, during the November 2007 debates in Florida, which were on CNN with questions from U-Tube, Mike Huckabee was asked about the funding of a manned mission to Mars as part of the NASA budget.
He explained the costs and the budget deficits and the wonderful technologies we now enjoy thanks to NASA that have bettered our standard of living and quality of life. When asked what he specifically thought about a manned mission to Mars, he said, well if we end up doing that, he hopes we can put Senator Hilary Clinton on the first flight to Mars.
This comment drew huge laughter from the audience and many people at home in their living room were quite amused. During another part of the debate, Mike Huckabee when asked; What would Jesus do? He explained:
Jesus was too smart to run for office!
It is good to see that Presidential Candidates giving off a little humor, as the debates get too serious and can get way too attacking. Indeed, it is nice to see their true personalities as it gets us to know them better as well. Do you know where all the candidates stand? Get to know them better.
